Meet Ciara Scallon.
Introducing Ciara Scallon, a full member of the Arts and Culture Network, and a fully qualified Coach Deeper-trained professional coach through the International Coach Federation.
Based in Halesworth in Suffolk in England, Ciara is a dedicated professional rooted in the charity sector and finds fulfilment in serving as a confidential sounding board for both senior and newly appointed leaders in the charity sector.
Some of the most transformative work in society is lead by charity CEOs and implemented by their teams.
Finding an objective listener and taking a moment for pause on a regular basis, can be a great way to reduce their burden. That's where Ciara comes in.
Mark found out more about Ciara's work and had great fun playing the Arts and Culture Hot Top 10 and The This or That games.
A significant portion of Ciara's career has been devoted to enabling charities to access and secure funding income, ensuring the delivery of impactful projects.
Her expertise extends to supporting charity sector leadership teams through coaching, showcasing a commitment to enhancing leadership effectiveness in the sector. Her research prowess in identifying suitable trusts, foundations, and statutory bodies has resulted in successful funding bids to the National Lottery, Charities Aid Foundation, Heritage Lottery Fund, several community foundations, and various industry-specific private trusts.
With a particular focus on arts, health, and wellbeing organisations, Ciara brings strong relationship management skills to the table. Her experience as a trustee for a mental health charity for many years has instilled a keen awareness of the need to reduce financial and operational risks while prioritising the well-being of whom she works with.
Previously a strategic fundraising consultant, Ciara lent her expertise to the Co-Op Juniors, the UK's largest amateur theatre group, ensuring its continued success after 78 years. She then went on to work as a business mentor at Be the Business and a business coach and mentor at Business Growth Coaches Network Ltd. Ciara focused on providing strategic fundraising guidance for CEOs and Senior Management in the Not-for-Profit Sector.
Having served as Head of Partnerships at Green Light Trust, Ciara played a pivotal role in expanding and strengthening relationships with funders, commissioners, and strategic partners. Her efforts contributed to securing £1 million in funding, including National Lottery support, sustaining the charity's vital work in Norfolk for the next three years.
Now, as the founder of The Giving Heart, she works with not-for-profit organisations, CEOs, founders or senior leadership teams, offering strategic guidance and successful delivery of fundraising projects.
In addition to her impactful roles, most recently, Ciara has been appointment as Development Executive at Creative Land Trust, a groundbreaking social impact charity aiming to provide secure, affordable workspace for artists and makers in the capital.
