Michael Woodruff

Motion Graphics Designer

I am a London-based motion graphics designer, digital artist and founder of Nectar Motion. My work spans film, television, documentaries, advertising, corporate communications, archive animation, title design, maps, VFX, digital art and motion-led storytelling.

Watch my interview with ACN founder Mark Walmsley here.

I have worked across a wide range of projects for broadcasters, production companies, brands and cultural clients, helping turn complex stories into clear, engaging visual experiences. Much of my work involves bringing archive material, maps, titles, interfaces and historical imagery to life through motion design.

Alongside my commercial practice, I am also developing my own digital art and design-led work, exploring archive materials, mapping, motion, memory and visual culture. I am particularly interested in the point where design becomes storytelling and where moving images can help audiences understand a subject more deeply.

Through the Arts and Culture Network, I am looking forward to connecting with other creatives, artists, filmmakers, writers, producers and cultural organisations interested in visual storytelling, documentary graphics, motion design and digital art.
