Internationally acclaimed natural artist and advocate for art and wellbeing.
I am Aase Birkhaug, a Norwegian artist passionate about exploring the intersections of art, nature, and spirituality. As an internationally certified artist recognized by the International Certifying Authority (ICA), I’ve been honored with 153 prestigious art awards and have had the privilege of participating in over 160 international exhibitions, biennales, fairs, and festivals between 2016 and 2024. My art reflects my lifelong love of nature and my belief in its transformative power to heal and inspire.
Beyond my work as an artist, I’m also a certified Color Therapist and Art Therapist, combining the therapeutic effects of light and color with my creative practice. Sharing my knowledge with others is a source of great joy, whether through teaching painting classes, writing articles, or publishing books.
My book, The Rose Garden (2018), published by ICAC London and Musei di Chianciano, is one of my most cherished projects, as it embodies my deep appreciation for flowers and their profound impact on mental and physical well-being.
In 2017, I showcased my work in Artistic Visions of Aase Birkhaug at the Amsterdam Whitney Art Gallery in New York. Through my art and writing, I strive to channel the "magic" of the cosmos, infusing my creations with spiritual energy that offers peace and healing to those who engage with them.
From a very young age, I’ve been captivated by roses and the beauty of florals. This passion led me to become a certified Botanical Guide at The Arboretum and Botanical Gardens at the University of Bergen. I guide visitors through the gardens, sharing insights about historical, modern, and wild roses. For me, this work aligns with my belief in the restorative power of nature, both for mental clarity and physical well-being.
Alongside my artistic and botanical pursuits, I’ve built a strong foundation in academia and coaching. I am a qualified physical therapist and certified Master Coach, holding Enhanced Level certifications. In addition, I serve as Education Chancellor for the Colombia Student Organisation in Norway and Europe. While I am eligible for the prestigious International Doctor of Arts Award, I also hold a reserved seat for a Ph.D. in Philosophy, which I hope to complete when funding becomes available.
Art is not just a craft for me—it is deeply tied to my spirituality. I embrace my clairvoyant gift, which allows me to channel universal energies into my work. My paintings aim to go beyond the visual, offering healing, light, and a sense of connection to something greater.
Over the years, I’ve had the opportunity to share my insights as an international speaker, delivering talks on five continents about the connections between art, nature, and human well-being. I’m proud to have my work recognized globally, with a profile on ArtFacts placing me among the top international artists. My paintings, as well as my books like The Rose Garden and Artistic Visions of Aase Birkhaug, are available on platforms like Fine Art America and can be found in libraries across Norway.
From my early fascination with florals to my global career as an artist, I remain deeply committed to exploring the ways creativity and nature can enrich lives. Through my work, I hope to inspire others, offering a unique blend of beauty, healing, and spirituality that speaks to the soul.
