Founder of Janet Lee Gallery
I founded Janet Lee Gallery to empower neuro-diverse artists, turning disabilities into unique abilities, while mentoring parents to nurture their children's artistic talents.
Hello everyone.
I am the Founder of Janet Lee Gallery which was set-up in 2020 together with my younger daughter the late Artist Janet Lee. Janet had, since young, being diagnosed as having intractable epilepsy and later also declared as intellectually disabled. Despite these challenges Janet did not see her disability as a hindrance but instead, spreads a cheery declaration that "being normal is boring" and that she is made "perfectly imperfect".
At the time of her passing (due to ovarian cancer) in July 2023, she was recognised as an international artist and colorist. Throughout her short lifetime, Janet's remarkable journey was a beacon of hope, determination and inspiration touching countless hearts across Malaysia, Singapore, the United States and beyond.
Today her gallery continues to sell her artworks and #artbeyondthecanvas gifts and is also a platform for neuro-diverse artists to grow and bloom through my mentorship program to the family members of these talents.
My mission goes beyond curating art; I mentor parents to recognise and cultivate their neur-diverse children’s unique gifts, offering guidance and support to navigate the challenges of raising differently-abled children.
I believe in creating a world where every individual, regardless of their abilities, has the opportunity to shine. Through my gallery and mentoring, I aim to inspire and enable others to see the boundless possibilities within their own lives.
