Over the years, I’ve had the pleasure of working with clients such as Bentley, Land Rover, Honda, Vodafone, British Airways, Johnson & Johnson, BT, Claridges, and several international tourism boards. I also contribute editorial and stock imagery to Getty.
In 2008, I returned to university to study Visual Communication (Still & Moving Image), completing an MA in 2010. That experience shifted my creative direction—moving me toward fine art projects and introducing moving image production into my work, which has become an important part of how I approach visual storytelling today.
Although I enjoy working across many subjects, I’m most drawn to photographing people. My portrait work has been recognised with awards including D&AD Pencils and multiple Gold, Silver, and Bronze awards from the Association of Photographers. My work has appeared in both private and public collections, including the National Portrait Gallery and the Birmingham Library Photographic Archive.
Exhibiting my work has always been an important part of my practice. Past projects include Movers & Shakers at Birmingham’s Symphony Hall, The V-word (a touring show commissioned by Timebank), Elan Valley – Land of Water, and AQUA – The Essence of Life at Stratford-upon-Avon’s ArtsHouse.
In recent years, my work has taken a more human-centred direction. I’ve been fortunate to create image banks for charities such as Shelter, Centrepoint, Guide Dogs for the Blind, Asthma UK, the British Lung Foundation, and Dying with Dignity—projects I’m especially proud of.
Alongside my photography, I’m also involved in education. I lecture on photography and visual communication at several universities and serve as an online tutor with the Open College of the Arts.
In 2015, I founded GULHOS, a production service focused on the hospitality and travel industries, providing photography and video content for destinations, food, drink, and lifestyle brands.
Throughout everything I do, my aim is simple: to create honest, engaging images that connect with people.
