Mark Noble
Painter of Light
I create mystical landscapes and abstract art, highlighting beauty in the overlooked. The focus of my art is the effect of light on naturalscapes. I champion sustainability through my work and community projects.
Hi, I’m Mark Noble, an artist based in Somerset, UK. I’m often inspired by the works of J.M.W. Turner, which influence my landscapes and abstract pieces to capture the mystical, dreamlike, and sublime. My goal is to shine a light on the beauty in overlooked aspects of life, creating art that feels both melancholic and spiritual.
After overcoming personal challenges with autism and severe dyslexia, as well as nearly two decades in a factory job, I pursued my dream of becoming an artist. Since then, I’ve exhibited my work across the UK and Europe, gaining interest internationally, including in South America.
In addition to painting, I’m passionate about supporting others. As an ambassador for Outside In, I advocate for disabled artists, and through Creative Portal, I help disadvantaged young people showcase their creative talents. I also lead art workshops and community projects, such as a school mural in Glastonbury.
Sustainability is a key focus of my work. My ‘Driftwood Collection’ features art created on recycled materials like old tiles, driftwood, and furniture. For me, art is about connection—showing others what they might not see and inspiring them to explore their creativity.
