Thea Cole

Digital director, consultant and producer

Hi, I’m Thea Cole—creative strategist, digital storyteller, and all-round content tinkerer. I’ve spent the last 20+ years weaving together technology, culture and creativity to tell stories that matter (and make people look up from their phones).

I cut my teeth at the BBC, where I worked across editorial and commissioning before becoming Head of Content for Red Button and iPlayer—back when getting video on the internet felt like wizardry. From there, I jumped into the wild world of global entertainment, leading digital strategy and innovation at Fremantle and Endemol on shows like The X Factor, Britain’s Got Talent, and Big Brother. I helped bring those TV giants to life online and found ways to make audiences part of the story.

These days I run DigiBox Arts—a production company and creative consultancy working at the intersection of arts, media, tech, and social impact. We make everything from VR installations to digital campaigns and content for museums, charities, festivals, and broadcasters. I’m also the founder of StartPoint.tv, a creative incubator supporting digital-first projects and the next generation of storytellers.

My sweet spot is helping organisations find their voice and connect with audiences through bold, immersive, and meaningful content—whether that’s a 360° film in a gallery or an interactive campaign on social media. I also speak, mentor, and advise on digital strategy, audience engagement, and creative innovation.

If it bends genres, blends mediums, or flips storytelling on its head, I’m in.
