I work with Taiwanese tea as a way of exploring culture, craftsmanship, hospitality and sensory experience. My work brings tea into different environments, from corporate and cultural events to private gatherings, restaurants and collaborative projects.

I am particularly interested in what happens when traditional tea knowledge meets a contemporary setting. I work with different forms of teaware and pay close attention to brewing variables including temperature, water and materials, as well as the aroma, flavour and texture of the tea itself.

Through Populus Tea Studio, I create experiences that can introduce people to Taiwanese tea without assuming they already know anything about it. This can include guided tastings, brewing and sensory workshops, tea gatherings, roaming tea services, tea pairing and collaborations with brands, hospitality businesses and cultural organisations.

For me, tea is not just about what is in the cup. It is also about the objects around it, the person preparing it, the people sharing it and the atmosphere created in the process.
