Meet Alisha Forrester Scott.

Alisha Forrester Scott
Alisha Forrester Scott is an entrepreneur, creative producer, artist, author, poet, consultant, and lifelong explorer of ideas. Originally from Arizona and now dividing her time between the United States and Mexico, she has built a career that bridges the worlds of business and creativity with equal enthusiasm.

Alisha (Bee) Forrester Scott has advised organisations across a wide range of industries in sales, marketing, communications, and business operations.

Her work has earned recognition from media outlets across radio, television, and print, while her entrepreneurial achievements led to her being named among the Top 100 Innovators & Entrepreneurs by Top 100 Magazine in both 2022 and 2023.

She was also recognised as a "Golden Rule Citizen" by the Governor of Arizona for her contributions to her community.

Alongside her consulting work, Alisha is the founder of Carousel Gallery & Gifts, where she develops visual art, creative products, and publishing projects.

A prolific writer and collaborator, she is currently working on an extensive catalogue of original books while continuing to explore new artistic ventures.

Alisha's life story is one of resilience, reinvention, and imagination. Raised in a restrictive religious environment, she found freedom through creativity, discovering in poetry, music, art, and dance a pathway towards self-expression and personal growth.

Today, she describes herself as a person of the world, driven by curiosity, travel, genealogy, environmental stewardship, and a deep fascination with the natural world.

If she possesses a superpower, she says it is finding "cool people, cool projects, and cool adventures." Judging by the breadth of her work and interests, few would disagree.

Alisha Forrester Scott's fantasy cultural year.

I shared some easy questions with Alisha to create her fantasy cultural year. I had a time machine and a magic wand at my disposal.

Alisha chose to participate in writing rather than video—an approach that proved perfectly suited to her thoughtful, imaginative, and often delightfully unexpected responses.

Her Fantasy Cultural Year quickly reveals a mind that resists convention.

Asked where in the world she would like to begin, she doesn't choose a famous landmark or iconic cultural institution.

Instead, she imagines being transported to her "dream home" and enjoying a glass of iced Jamaica tea while reading an encyclopaedic guide to seashell collections from across Earth—and perhaps beyond. It is a response that perfectly captures her blend of imagination, humour, and fascination with discovery.

When presented with the ficticious opportunity to spend a fully funded year researching any subject she wished, Alisha's answer was immediate: saving the bees. Her proposed global research project would explore pollinator conservation, biodiversity, and public education, helping people better understand the thousands of bee species upon which ecosystems and food production depend. The project reflects a recurring theme throughout her answers: a desire to combine creativity with practical impact and environmental stewardship.

Her cultural journey then unfolds across several continents. Beginning in New Jersey, where some of the world's oldest bee specimens have been discovered, she continues to New York's Museum of the Earth, Malaysia's renowned bee collections, and New Zealand's mānuka honey regions. Throughout the journey, Alisha demonstrates a remarkable ability to connect culture, science, history, and community into a single narrative.

Music also plays an important role in her life. Faced with the challenge of listening to just one genre for an entire year, she chooses classical music, appreciating both its breadth and its enduring capacity for surprise. Yet her tastes remain wonderfully eclectic. In London, she would happily seek out underground rock, punk, or jazz performances before attending ABBA Voyage and revisiting the enduring spectacle of The Phantom of the Opera.

Some of her most memorable answers emerge when discussing performance and cultural experience. Given the opportunity to witness any dance performance in history, she chooses the legendary Nigerian musician and activist Fela Kuti and his ensemble, combining music, movement, politics, and cultural expression into a singular artistic experience.

Her sporting choices reveal a similar curiosity, leading her to explore traditional Southeast Asian activities such as Sepak Takraw, Silat, and kite flying, all of which she regards as forms of performance art in their own right.

The interview also highlights Alisha's appreciation of heritage and ancestry. Her lifelong interest in genealogy surfaces repeatedly, culminating in her choice of lunch companion. Rather than selecting a celebrity or contemporary figure, she would choose to meet one of her own ancestors from ancient Britain. Failing that, she would gladly spend an afternoon with Helen Keller and Anne Sullivan, whose extraordinary story of perseverance, education, and human potential continues to inspire generations.

What emerges from this written conversation is a portrait of someone who approaches life with openness, generosity, and wonder. Whether discussing entrepreneurship, art, environmental conservation, family history, travel, books, or music, Alisha consistently returns to the themes of learning, creativity, connection, and possibility.

Her Fantasy Cultural Year is ultimately less about places and performances than it is about curiosity itself—the belief that every journey, every conversation, and every creative act has the potential to expand our understanding of the world and our place within it.
