Meet Mark Halliday.

In this interview, Mark invited Mark Halliday to create his own fantasy cultural year from the answers to some easy questions where there are no wrong answers. Enjoy his journey below.

Mark Halliday is the consummate show-man turned show-maker: a West End-honed singer, actor and creative impresario whose work now lights up stages across the UK and beyond. As founder and driving force behind Veritas Live Entertainment Ltd, he doesn’t just put on shows — he engineers spectacles that turn ordinary events into headline moments.

In his performing days, Mark cut his teeth in the glittering world of musical theatre. He starred in the smash hit Jersey Boys in London’s West End — an experience that left its mark, and later inspired him to create the tribute-show sensation Walk Like A Man.

Using his inside knowledge of that hit show, he shaped Walk Like A Man to deliver silky falsettos, slick choreography and nostalgia-drenched harmonies that get audiences to their feet.

But Mark isn’t content with simply recreating the past — he pushes the envelope. Under Veritas Live, his productions have spanned theatres, stately homes, weddings, corporate galas, outdoor festivals, Christmas celebrations and more.

As well as being a performer-turned-producer, Mark brings business savvy to the stage. Public records list him as “person with significant control” at Veritas Live Entertainment Ltd.

Despite the glitz and glamour, he deals in reliability: seamless service from first enquiry to final encore. Audiences don’t just return — they demand a repeat.

A bit cheeky, endlessly creative, and always professional — that’s Mark Halliday.

Mark's Fantasy Cultural Year ... with a magic wand and time machine to hand.

In Mark Halliday's Fantasy Cultural Year, he is funded by a fictitious Dubai family foundation to travel the world hunting for fresh entertainment ideas. He kicks things off in Greece, diving into a company that blends visual art with music — all while pledging to spend the entire year listening only to swing music.

Global Culture Hopping

The fantasy trip quickly expanded:

  • Cape Town for dance history (plus a cheeky volleyball match).

  • Rio for flamenco and Latin rhythms, topped off with a digitally enhanced Andy Warhol experience.

  • Dinner on the road? For Halliday, it’s always steak and red wine.

Plotting a London Culture Binge

Next up: a real-life five-day cultural blowout in London. They plan to pack in a concert, theatre shows, a musical, opera, and films. Highlights include:

  • Mark Halliday wanting to relive his teenage Iron Maiden glory days.

  • A trip to see The Play That Goes Wrong.

  • Mark Walmsley pitched Tosca at the Royal Opera House.

  • Mark Halliday recommending Les Misérables for a classic musical fix.

’80s Films, Dean Martin, and Hero Lunches

Bonding over The Breakfast Club led to fantasies about lunch with Dean Martin — complete with anecdotes about his quirks.
