The Artist
Born in Kortrijk, Belgium in 1967, Vincent Messelier is a self-taught artist whose paintings exude an undeniable passion that emanates from his very core. Often accompanied by the soothing melodies of jazz in the background, Vincent's art serves as a mirror to his ever-evolving moods and inspirations.
Meridianism
Vincent has pioneered his own distinctive style known as "meridianism." Employing palette knives, his works are characterised by bold vertical and horizontal stripes and lines, which he employs to rectify the intentional chaos sometimes introduced onto the canvas. Acrylic serves as his primary medium, occasionally infused with materials such as wood and foam to add depth and texture to his creations.
Beyond the Canvas
In addition to his traditional works, Vincent has ventured into a secondary line of art tailored for the realms of hospitality and business. This innovative concept involves fusing his original artworks with photographs he captures himself, featuring diverse themes such as horses, historical architecture, birds, sports, eagles, and more. He also welcomes custom commissions, breathing life into his clients' visions.
