Contemporary Fine Artist

I am a Ghana‑based contemporary fine artist exploring the emotional and cultural texture of African life through acrylic, gold leaf and symbolic portraiture.

My practice focuses on portraiture and the human figure, often merging abstraction with symbolism to express experiences that are difficult to articulate in words. I work primarily with acrylics and a palette dominated by deep royal blue, black, and gold leaf.

Blue allows me to communicate depth and introspection; black creates structure and form; gold introduces heritage, spirituality, and light. The layered textures in my paintings reflect how experiences accumulate — unevenly, sometimes painfully, sometimes beautifully.

Although art was always present in my life, I spent several years working in the hospitality and property management sectors, learning how people behave, interact, and negotiate space. I later studied Sociology and Social Work, which helped me understand the emotional and social realities that appear in my paintings today. In 2024, I returned fully to art, and by 2025, I chose to commit to it professionally. Painting became not just a creative outlet, but a form of survival, clarity, and healing.

My work is rooted in African narratives, yet it speaks to themes that are universal: resilience, vulnerability, joy, and human connection. I am building my practice with the intention of exhibiting internationally, collaborating across cultures, and sharing African-centred visual stories with audiences around the world. Art, for me, is not only expression — it is vision, dialogue, and a way of making sense of the world.
