Miriam Hartnell
Fine artist
I’m Miriam Hartnell, also known as Tiferet Fine Art—a UK-based contemporary artist who creates immersive, emotionally driven paintings.
I create paintings that are designed to be experienced rather than simply viewed. My work is rooted in the belief that art can act as a catalyst for personal insight, emotional release and quiet moments of clarity—sometimes profound, sometimes playful, often both at once.
I’m drawn to bold colour, layered symbolism and fluid forms that invite interpretation rather than instruction. Each piece develops intuitively, building visual narratives that feel alive and responsive. I’m less interested in telling people what to see and more curious about what they discover when they spend time with a painting. The process is deliberately immersive, allowing meaning to unfold slowly and personally.
My work often explores themes of balance, inner transformation, movement and connection—ideas that are reflected in the name Tiferet, which speaks to harmony and integration. While there’s a spiritual undercurrent to much of what I create, it’s grounded in human experience: curiosity, emotion, humour and the occasional beautifully imperfect moment. I like my art to feel thoughtful without being heavy, meaningful without taking itself too seriously.
Alongside my studio practice, I enjoy sharing glimpses into my creative process and the thinking behind my work through my online platforms. Whether someone encounters my art on a gallery wall, a screen, or in their own space, my hope is that it sparks a sense of resonance—something that lingers, shifts perspective, or simply makes the day feel a little more colourful.I create paintings that are designed to be experienced rather than simply viewed.
