Rowynn Dumont
Artist, Writer, Photographer, and Curator
I am an artist, writer, photographer, and curator based in New York. My work explores themes of alchemy, spirituality, and sexuality through multidisciplinary practices.
As an artist, writer, photographer, and curator, my creative journey is a deep exploration of themes like alchemy, spirituality, and sexuality. My practice blends various forms of art and philosophical inquiry, with a focus on challenging societal norms and engaging with alternative spiritual practices. I hold a BFA from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago and am currently pursuing a PhD, with my dissertation focusing on Haitian Vodou Aesthetics and Resistance.
My curatorial work extends internationally, and I have had the privilege of exhibiting my art at galleries and museums around the world, including The Fowler Museum in Los Angeles and Nimbus at Vespertine in Shanghai. I have also been honoured to lecture at institutions such as CAA (DTLA) and the Paris School of Art. Through my work, I aim to create immersive, thought-provoking experiences that invite critical reflection on the complexity of human existence.
