About the event

Join us on Zoom at 1pm BST on Thursday 7th September 2023 for an hour of random speed networking and a speed webinar on how to achieve more sales by not selling, with musician and sales guru John Wallace.

When not playing, composing, or leading choirs, John works with executives, business owners and their teams, and freelancers to ensure more people buy more of their products and services, at greater value.

John is a full member of The Arts and Culture Network and we had a stimulating one-to-on recently. He has a novel and very effective strategy for increasing sales across all industries, without being salesy. It's about listening and identifying the risks and real desires of your target audience.

John will share his 5 top tips for applying his sales strategy in a 10-minute speed webinar during our meeting.

For example, I often tell the story of a person buring a half inch drill. They don't really want a half inch drill, they want a half inch hole!

Not according to John ... They don't want a half inch hole, they don't even want to hang that painting. What they really want is to stop their spouse from reminding them about the overdue task so that they can live a happier life.

What do your customers really want?

Are you allowing them to buy that from you?

What does this mean for us in the arts and culture sector? Are we offering the right things to our customers?

John will help us find out.

A few yearas ago, I was asked to start and host a series of monthly chamber music concerts in Mayfair in London. With approximately 3% of Londoners saying they enjoyed chamber music, I had a challenge and very little money to promote it.

My prospective audince members didn't really want to listen to chamber music for 2 hours in a drafty church. What they wanted was to socialise with like-minded people.

So the event became a 1-hour concert with no interval, followed by a 2-hour drinks party. We went from 18 people in the audience for the first concert, to 225 for the last, a year later.

"Mark, the Arts and Culture Network is FANTASTIC!! The monthly zoom networking events far exceeded my expectations. I have met many wonderful new people, with whom I have since collaborated. It's opened many doors for me, which has been a huge benefit. Many thanks!" (Lauren Grierson)

Before and after John's 10-minute webinar, we will be random speed networing to create new connections, start conversations, and explore opportunities for collaboration.

For those who don't have to dash off, the after party for open networking is legendary and where much of the magic happens.

Join us as a full member for just £10 per month (or £100 per year) for supported and enhanced access to our network, and my own, to grow and develop your own, your network, career, and/or business.

“I've just joined!! £10 a month for a 1:1 business growth session, free networking, and access to all the events (on top of everything else!)?! This is INSANE value for money Mark and I'm so grateful for everything you've done to build such a supportive network of likeminded creative professionals.” (Sarah Hunt - West End Coach)

I hope to see you there.
