Meet Caroline Sanger-Davies, not just a marketing & communications expert but a principal consultant for Experience Marketing Ltd, specializing in strategic communications within the leisure and tourism sector.
With a rich tapestry of experiences woven through a three-decade-long career, Caroline has become a knowledgeable figure across various domains, including marketing strategy, strategic planning, public speaking, brand consulting, marketing consulting, and public relations the arts landscape.
As a Trustee for Liverpool Everyman & Playhouse theatres, Caroline extends her passion for the arts beyond her professional endeavours, actively contributing to the cultural vibrancy of the community. She has held marketing and operational roles for various arts organizations and attractions across the UK, showcasing her prowess in navigating the dynamic intersection of arts, tourism, and marketing.
Caroline's academic achievements include holding an MBA, a testament to her commitment to continuous learning and excellence in her field. Notably, she is a Fellow of the PRCA (Public Relations and Communications Association), highlighting her dedication to upholding the highest standards in public relations and communications.
In her role as a strategic marketing and communications expert, Caroline brings over 30 years of invaluable experience. Her leadership has been instrumental in spearheading marketing, PR, public affairs, membership, and fundraising initiatives for Chester Zoo for over eight years. Under her guidance, the zoo experienced remarkable growth in membership, launched impactful campaigns to boost visitor numbers, and collaborated with stakeholders to enhance the organisation's reputation.
Caroline’s early aspirations of becoming a drama teacher eventually led her to the world of marketing in the arts. Her foundational experience at Buxton Opera House in the Peak District shaped her creative and budget-conscious approach to marketing. The variety and immediacy of working on diverse projects, from ballet to Shakespeare productions, ignited her passion for the arts.
Caroline's career continued to flourish as she took on roles at Cheltenham Music Festival, Cheltenham Literature Festival, Hereford Theatre, and the Eisteddfod in Llangollen.
Her crowning achievement in the arts was as the Director of Marketing and Communications, overseeing the opening of the Wales Millennium Centre.
With an ever-watchful eye on doing something different, Caroline ventures into education marketing, freelance work and continues to be a trailblazer, helping to shape the portrayal of many arts and cultural businesses. Her multifaceted skill set reflects her ability to navigate the complex landscape of the arts and culture sector with finesse and creativity.
