Meet Diana McElroy, a life of mindfullness, coaching and mental health.
Diana McElroy is a Transformational Facilitator and mindful well-being advocate whose work straddles the grounded and the expansive. As the founder and CEO of Higher High, LLC, she leads with a clear-eyed commitment to helping others live with intention, guided not by quick fixes but by deliberate shifts rooted in awareness, breath, and movement.
Her coaching style is practical yet personal, fusing meditation, yoga, humour, and even reading into a multidimensional path toward sustainable inner balance. Diana’s approach is anchored in the timeless principle of mens sana in corpore sano—a healthy mind in a healthy body.
Diana McElroy's career is a journey of layered transformation—from the world of structured corporate roles to the open, evolving landscape of lifestyle wellness. Her professional path began in the late 1990s, working in IT coordination at CIT. She later transitioned into finance and real estate administration — skills that would later serve her well in more people-centred and community-driven roles.
In 2018, Diana entered the real estate industry, working as a sales agent with Coldwell Banker, balancing part-time entrepreneurship with a growing interest in wellness and advocacy. This interest bloomed further with her involvement in the cannabis sector, where she became a Community Outreach Specialist at TerrAscend New Jersey—one of the original twelve medical cannabis license holders in the state.
There, she played a hands-on role in launching dispensaries and a cultivation facility. Her time in the cannabis industry gave her a unique, ground-level perspective on the plant, from seed to sale, while her passion for education and destigmatisation of cannabis as medicine deepened through patient advocacy—especially informed by her personal experiences navigating perimenopause and the pursuit of vitality.
During this same period, Diana leaned further into her personal well-being practice, drawing from over a decade as a yoga instructor. Since 2010, she has guided students through movement and meditation, adding her own edge with certifications in Rage Yoga—an expressive modality that blends traditional asanas with raw emotional release.
By 2021, all threads of her experience—wellness, community engagement, personal transformation, and education—converged with the founding of Higher High, LLC. Through this hybrid initiative, Diana offers coaching that integrates mindfulness with embodied practices such as breathwork, visualisation, and dance, while also curating programming for groups and organisations. The company’s mission is simple but resonant: help people find direction and joy through intentional living.
A proud alumna of Fairleigh Dickinson University, Diana remains engaged with academic and entrepreneurial communities. She co-curated two CannaPreneur Conferences with the university, creating space for market dialogue and cannabis industry development—an example of her commitment to bridging emerging industries with accessible education.
Whether leading a yoga class, facilitating a group meditation, or speaking on cannabis policy, Diana's work invites others to slow down, reconnect, and redefine wellness on their own terms. Through Higher High, she continues planting seeds—of thought, of practice, and of presence—for those ready to cultivate a life of purpose.
Diana McElroy's Fantasy Cultural Year
With a magic wand in one hand, a time machine warmed up, and a Star Trek transporter on standby, Mark sat down with visual artist Diana McElroy to imagine his dream cultural year. You can watch the conversation in full above—or tune in via Spotify and SoundCloud below.
What followed was a creative, witty, and globe-trotting journey across art, music and food.
Cottages, Classics, and the Lake District
Mark and Diana began their journey by sharing their ideal living spaces. Diana imagined a cosy cottage nestled among diverse terrains—places like Ireland, Poland, Switzerland, or Japan. Mark responded by whisking her away to the Lake District, suggesting a local pub table as their meeting spot. Over imagined pints and seasonal drinks, they pondered what books might be stacked nearby. Diana confessed that, if her reading habits returned, she’d dive back into Gone with the Wind.
Mindfulness Meets Middle-earth
Their conversation wandered into the realm of film, landing firmly in the world of The Lord of the Rings. Mark recounted Peter Jackson’s battle to preserve the trilogy's epic form. From cinematic fantasy to mindful presence, the discussion shifted to Diana’s own work. Mark revealed that a wealthy Lake District family had taken notice—and proposed a grand adventure: a global tour exploring mindfulness practices. The project offered not only a generous salary, but a book deal, a TED Talk, and a university lecture tour. Diana, honoured and intrigued, said she’d accept—pending her family’s blessing.
Kathmandu Dreams and Wand-Wielding Wishes
Fuelled by fantasy, they imagined a year of travel, beginning in the textured streets of Kathmandu. Diana envisioned herself in a rustic home—cottage-like and grounded. Mark, with a flick of his magic wand, conjured the perfect spot. That evening, they planned to attend a dance performance and share dinner, with the world wide open for their next step.
Cape Town Rhythms and Fusion Flavours
The evening’s dance extended south, as Diana expressed interest in African movement. Mark suggested a show in Cape Town—children and professionals sharing the stage. Dinner would follow, featuring African cuisine with a twist: South African-Indian fusion. Mark jested about inventing a British sushi restaurant, which Diana found both amusing and sacrilegious.
Quiet Corners and Desert Sands
They spoke of travel cravings. Diana sought quieter corners of the globe—spaces that offered simplicity and calm. She dreamed of Tokyo’s energy and the stillness of a desert. Mark suggested Jordan for its sandscapes, while Diana toyed with the idea of Dubai, despite the crowds. Both agreed: in life and travel, less is more.
Bodies in Motion and the Art of Aging
The topic turned to breakdancing—both admired the artistry and strength of the performers. Diana demonstrated her own power, rising from the floor with yogic grace. She shared her past as a dedicated yogi, her present devotion to staying strong, and her awe for the human form as it ages.
East of Europe, West of Expectation
Next, their map pointed east—to Georgia and Kazakhstan. They imagined walking the streets of Astana, exploring a digital art gallery pulsing with virtual reality. The week ahead promised a cultural buffet: a pop/rock concert, a theatre piece, a musical, the opera, and a film—left unscheduled, to be chosen in the moment.
Stages and Screens: A Cultural Feast
Talk turned to specific shows. Diana wished to see the holographic ABBA concert and Hamilton. Mark offered up The Importance of Being Earnest and Tosca. For a film, Diana chose Beaches—a tearjerker. Mark countered with Interstellar, praising its majestic score.
Dinner Guests and Sacred Conversations
At an imagined dinner, Diana welcomed her family, then dreamt aloud of adding Paul McCartney, a film industry icon, and Taylor Swift to the guest list. She longed to ask the Pope about his role—and loved Mark’s idea of the Pope inviting the Dalai Lama along. The evening closed with thoughts of Diana launching her cultural year, even if only locally.
Quickfire Choices and Thoughtful Fun
To finish, they played a rapid-fire "this or that" game. From drinks to chocolate, Diana made quick, grounded decisions—choosing to cook for herself and dive straight into the deep end. Mark promised to send her the game links across YouTube, SoundCloud, and Spotify. As they parted, Diana looked forward to their February reunion.
